Attorneys
John L. Darrouzet, lobbyist in Texas Legislature, had office in CNB in 1914. Town in Panhandle named for him, spelled Darrouzett (from Handbook of Texas).
Dibrell, C. G. later an associate of McDonald and Wayman, RR man, later judge of 56th District court. In 1926 the sitting judge (Brady?) was disbarred (?) (stepped down?) and Ma Ferguson appointed Dibrell in ca. 1926-27. Dibrell was judge of the 56th district court unopposed for 27 years. Died Aril 1, 1961. His son, C. G. Dibrell ("Chick") lives in Galveston.
Kleberg, Marcellus E. (1849-1913)

from Handbook of Texas; Marcellus E. Kleberg, attorney, son of Robert Justus and Rosalie (von Roeder) Kleberg, was born at Meyersville, Texas, on February 7, 1849. He attended Concrete College and graduated form the law school of Washington and Lee university in 1872. He established his law practice in DeWitt County and in 1873 was elected to the House of the Thirteenth Texas Legislature. He moved to Bellville in 1875 and formed a law partnership with B. T. Harris. On October 24, 1875, he married Emilie Miller of Austin and later in the year moved his law practice to Galveston. In Galveston, Kleberg was city attorney, city commissioner, and a trustee and president of the school board for eighteen years. He was a charter member of the state bar association and a delegate to the national bar association in 1912. He was a regent of the University of Texas under Governor S. W. T. Lanham. Kleberg dies in Galveston on March 1, 1913, leaving his widow and six children.

Attorney, appointed Postmaster of Galveston in 1923 under President Harding; reappointed under Coolidge and Hoover; Asst. US District Attorney; member of Texas State legislature; came to Galveston 1907; Asst. US District Attorney until 1914 then entered private practice and postmaster duties.

Guiteras, Gregario Maria, M. D., b. Matanzas, Cuba, Mar 12, 1863. Practice in Charleston, S. C., 1886-87; asst. surgeon, advancing through grades to sr. surgeon, U. S. Marine Hospital Service (now U. S. Public Health Service), 1888-1927. Considered an authority of the disease of yellow fever.
Keiller, William. Member of the original faculty at UTMB, Keiller Building named after him at UTMB.
McLaughlin, James Warton (1840-1909), 1897 accepted a chaired professorship in the medical department of UTMB. Active member of the Texas State Medical Association (now the Texas Medical Association); he served on various committees and was elected president in 1894. Other professional affiliations included the AMA, Am. Public Health assoc.; Southern Surgical and Gynecological Assoc., Austin Microscopic Society, and Travis County Medical Society. He was a regent of the University if Texas (1907-09) During his tenure at the medical school in Galveston, he expanded the clinical laboratory and incorporated laboratory techniques into clinical teaching. Resigned from UTMB in 1905.
